British prime minister, David Cameron resigns.

Theresa May will become the second female UK prime minister.

David Cameron chaired his final of 215 Cabinet meetings today in 10 Downing Street.
The meeting discussed the Government’s life chances strategy and the vote on Monday to renew Trident.
It was rounded off with tributes to Mr Cameron from Theresa May, who replaces him as leader tomorrow, and George Osborne, the Chancellor.
Mr Cameron left at the end to go to a free school in west London to highlight the news that 31 new free schools have been approved, giving pupils 20,000 new places.
This is his last visit as Prime Minister. He went to the school on his own without a minister.
Here Christopher Hope, our Chief Political Correspondent, looks at what happened at Mr Cameron's last Cabinet meeting.
