FG fixes boarding fare ahead of Abuja-Kaduna rail commissioning.

As President Muhammadu Buhari prepares to commission the completed Abuja-Kaduna rail project, the Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi on Thursday, fixed boarding fare for passengers who intend to ply the route.

The Minister, who was accompanied by the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Oyegun, former Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Oni, and other party chieftains in Abuja, stated that the project has been finalized and ready for commercial operation.

Amaechi said passengers who intend to board executive and economy seats would be charged N900 and N500 respectively.

On perimeter fencing, Amaechi disclosed that the contract has been awarded and work will soon commence at the terminals.

“When we get money, we will start fencing. The contract has been awarded and we are looking for money but we will soon get money and we hope to start fencing in the next two – three months.

“We are expecting new locomotives and when it comes, we will then make arrangement in next year budget to buy more coaches so that we can have one of the trains stopping in all the stations and the other doing Kaduna – Abuja,” the Minister said.

In his remark, Oyegun admitted the project was initiated by the past administration but far from completion.

He added that aside from other additional considerations, the project also gave attention to the disabled persons who may want to access the service.

“Within one year of the present minister, under direction of the president, he set every other thing in place that makes it a railway line. It is functional, ready to roll. It will start rolling commercially,” Oyegun said.

Also speaking, the Managing Director, Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Engr. Fidet Okhira said the service will ease pressure on the roads, increase easy delivery of goods and services.

He expressed optimism that before 2017, the railway corridors will also witness fast development.

Okhira said: “This will project will also take a lot pressure off the roads, the roads will last longer and accidents will reduce. You cannot quantify all these in naira and kobo.

“Rail infrastructure brings development. In less than a year you will see industries and estates spring up along the rail corridor because there is means of transportation.

“Right now, we are moving three trains of fertilizers from Lagos to Kaduna for Flour Mills. We started moving for Lafarge from Gombe to Kafanchan and Kaduna. We are still talking with the petroleum suppliers to partner with us.

“Presently we have a few customers we move petroleum products for with our pressurized tanks. We also use some to move our diesel across our stations. We use over 15 trucks of diesel a month.

“On Abuja to Kaduna, we will have parcel wagons but not huge loads. We have 20 rail wagons and open wagons.”

and it is important to be open and communicate
with them. They will need reassurance and

time with their parents. It can be lots of fun to
make time for an impromptu game or an
unscheduled trip to the park, as well as being

Escaped Prisoner Enters Bar To Order Beer, Asks Bartender To Call The Police

An escaped prison inmate who was obviously tired of running gave himself up to the authorities after enjoying a cold bottle of beer in a bar.

An Arkansas sheriff said an inmate who escaped custody walked into a bar, had some food and beer, and asked the owner to call authorities on him.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Shaun Higham, 45, was arrested Tuesday about 9:15 p.m. when deputies responded to a call from the owner of the Mitch’s Place tavern in Paris.

The post said the call came shortly after a woman called authorities to report a man wearing "dirty looking scrubs and orange shoes" walking east on Highway 22, west of Paris.

Mitchell Ford, the owner of the bar, said Higham asked him to contact Sheriff Boyd Hicks.

"He came walking out of the dark and he said, ‘Mitch,’ and I said, ‘Shaun, your picture is all over the TV," Ford told KFSM-TV. "[Higham] said, ‘Mitch I know, will you help me turn myself in?’"

Ford said Higham was covered in insect bites and told him he hadn’t eaten in eight days. Ford said he served the man food and beer while waiting for deputies.

"I asked him what happened to his prison outfit," Ford said."He turned it inside out and you could see the stripes, that’s how dirty it was. I couldn’t tell from the way he was wearing it."

The sheriff’s office said Higham "didn’t get to finish" his beer before being taken back into custody.

"He was very cooperative and apologetic. He was also tired, hungry and eat up with insect bites. He was transported back to the Logan County Detention Center where he is being held on his previous charges and numerous additional charges," the Facebook post said.

Higham, who was originally arrested on a charge of felony aggravated robbery, and Zackary Coffer, 19, escaped from the Logan County Detention Center June 28 by apparently picking the lock on their cell door. Coffer was recaptured later the same day.

The president of the Spanish football league says he is worried that Lionel Messi could leave to play in another country after being found guilty of tax fraud.
Javier Tebas has also defended Messi’s innocence two days after a court ruled the Barcelona forward and his father defrauded the Spanish tax office of €4.1 million ($4.6m).
Tebas said: “Of course I fear that [Messi] could leave, but the only thing I can tell him is that from La Liga we believe he isn’t guilty and we are happy to have him here.”
On Wednesday, a court sentenced Messi and his father, Jorge Horacio Messi, to 21 months in prison.
In Spain, sentences of less than two years for first offences are usually suspended, meaning neither man will likely go to jail.
Tebas clarified that the court ruled Messi and his father guilty of three counts of tax fraud.

“They were three verdicts of seven months each, not one of 21,” he said. “They were not that severe. We are talking about process that wasn’t properly followed. I don’t think Messi is a criminal. He fell victim to a faulty fiscal structure which will be changed.”
Tebas added that Messi has paid more than &euro61m to Spain and with that money “hospitals and roads have been built.”
Tebas also dismissed the notion that this case was part of any larger conspiracy against the Argentina star.
“There is no prejudice or personal attack against Messi or against Barcelona,” he said. “The world of sport is under investigation.”

8.) Go crazy on social media
Before giving him a starring role on Instagram, be sure he’s ready to be your leading man.  Filling your feed with “ussies” could backfire if you’re rushing a connection that may not be built to last. Once you go public, there’s no turning back.

9.) Rush the parental introductions/visits
Meeting the parents happens organically when you relax and let love takes its course. Rushing quality time with his mom before he’s ready (or she is) can sometimes backfire big time.

10.) Blow off all the other guys
While we’re not advocating dating multiple guys at the same time, cutting every other man you know, or was romantically linked to, out of your life too soon may make for many awkward apologies later, especially if they were friends worth having.
